Duration: 2 days, 1 night trip
Type of Motorcycle: Honda Touring Bike 200cc, 250cc, Honda Motocross 250cc or the small Honda Moped 125cc, Russian Minsk 125cc.
Itinerary:
Day1 Ha Noi – Mai Chau, 150km, 4 hr ride.
After breakfast, transfer by car to the starting point at the outskirt of Hanoi, from here you take the bikes and start your first day ride to Mai Chau.
Leaving Hanoi and breaking out of the delta plains, we pass through endless limestone karst scenery as we travel up to the Northwestern region, the extensive farming lands comprising a sea of paddy fields split by tree-lined roads. Arrive in Mai Chau in late afternoon.
There are many small roads that lead into the mountains around Mai Chau, so we'll take the chance to ride out to the isolated H'mong, Dao and Thai villages. We will take on the challenge of an old road built by the French army and spend the afternoon to explore the nearby villages. Overnight in a Thai ethnicity stilt house in Mai Chau.
Day2 Mai Chau – Ho Chi Minh Trail – Ha Noi, 220km, 6 hr ride
Say goodbye to the family, we ride today on a small, spectacular and paved trail along the Ma river until Cam Thuy town where we stop to visit the fish cave. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we hit the Ho Chi Minh trail (now a newly built highway), many stops for photo as we riding throuh the area of the karst mountains. Get back to the city traffic, we arrive in Hanoi by 5pm. Tour ends.
